Visual Designer

Brandt Works Inc., a full service interactive agency, is looking for a freelance Visual Designer. The ideal candidate should have 1-3+ years of experience designing within the interactive online and mobile space.

The Visual Designer will be responsible for brainstorming creative concepts with the project team, developing original design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in visual design presentations to clients, developing detailed design specs for production and, in general, creating amazing and compelling online and mobile visual expressions.

Requirements

• Visually rich online portfolio demonstrating a unique perspective and passion for design beyond the norm.
• 1-3+ years of visual design experience working in online and mobile
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (bonus points for Powerpoint, Flash, WordPress, and development skills)
• Expertise in the areas of web design, mobile web, and app design is a must (brand identity system design is a plus)
• Must demonstrate great design sensibility, an appreciation for classic typography, grid systems, and solid design principles
• Strong conceptual thinking and ability to explain and defend your design rationale
• A solid understanding for designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation.
• Must be self-motivated, able to work well as part of a team, and also independently
• Ability to work under pressure and to juggle multiple projects effectively
• Obsession for the interactive industry with a driving desire to stay on top of emerging web technologies and trends
• Interest in current web trends and innovations and able to evangelize technology
• Great communications skills — both with internal teams and clients
